The Creed franchise has always been about pushing limits — both inside the ring and out. Next year, Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors are bringing that ethos to life once again in Creed III, and their latest fitness reveals prove they’ve been training like elite athletes.
On October 17, 2022, Jordan shared two teaser posters on Instagram showing himself as Adonis Creed and Majors as the new antagonist, Damian “Dame” Anderson. Both actors are seated in a boxing ring corner, flexing massive shoulders, arms, and shredded upper bodies — a testament to months of grueling preparation. The film is set for release on March 3, 2023, and it marks Jordan’s directorial debut.
Jordan, 35, has become known for his intense training for previous Creed films, balancing cardio, strength, and boxing-specific conditioning. Meanwhile, Majors, 33, brings a similar level of commitment. Known for roles in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Da 5 Bloods, and The Harder They Fall, he’s also set to play Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a Men’s Health profile, Majors emphasized that he refuses to cut corners in training for his roles:
“If I’m going to bench press 250 [pounds] in a film, I need to be able to bench press 275… 305 a few times.”
He also made it clear he won’t settle for fake props:
“We are not putting fake weights on… I haven’t been training for the past three months to use Styrofoam. Put real weights on so we can shoot it, so I can tell the story.”
With both actors committing fully to their physical prep, Creed III promises to deliver some of the most realistic, high-intensity boxing sequences yet. When March 2023 rolls around, fans will get to see two actors at the peak of their athletic abilities go toe-to-toe in the ring.
